For youth workers, by youth workers
The Youth Educating Peers (YEP) Project is a peer-led youth sexual health project run by the Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA). We provide inclusive sexual health education to young people and the youth sector across Western Australia. We operate under a harm minimisation, sex positive, and inclusive approach. The YEP Project is bound by the Youth Work Code of Ethics and seeks to support young people to maintain healthy and positive relationships and sexual experiences.
YEP can provide presentations and workshops to the youth sector, or those supporting young people for FREE across Western Australia, thanks to our funding from the Department of Health’s SHBBV Program. We also have some capacity to deliver other fee-for-service trainings. Whilst YEP provides education sessions to services supporting all young people, organisations supporting high populations from the SHBBV target populations will be prioritised (Aboriginal, CaLD, LGBTIQA+, young women, injecting drug users, people involved in the justice system, people involved in the care system or experiencing homelessness).
Our professional development sessions aim to upskill the youth sector with practical skills and knowledge that they can use with their clients in 1:1 and group scenarios.
Workshops and presentations are ideally offered face-to-face, but to increase our reach some content can be delivered online.
Workshop bookings for 2024 are open.
