Hi! I’m Vithan Thillairajah – I’m 20 years old and I’m currently in the final year of my public health major at UWA. I enjoy doing spontaneous things, which involves learning new skills and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. Currently, I’m venturing to learn hypnosis, and aiming to master a few audacious magic tricks!
My passion for working with young people has meant that I have been involved with Dr YES, which are youth education sessions targeted at school aged children to reduce stigma and improve overall sexual and public health literacy. I have also volunteered with RED Frogs to provide positive peer presence, and I have recently had the privilege of organising the Catalyst Youth Summit – a 3 day platform that allows young multicultural Western Australians to come together and discuss issues effecting their respective communities.
My drive for wanting to work with young people to create positive sustainable change has brought me to the YEP Project. The idea of equipping young people with the tools to help other young people on important health issues is exciting! I can’t wait to get amongst the YEP project!
