Hi! I’m Emily. I’m 23, I live in Perth, and I’m currently studying a Diploma of Community Services at North Metro TAFE. I have a strong passion for equality, justice, and providing advocacy for disadvantaged groups, and I’m looking forward to being able to use my qualification to achieve those things where I can. I’ve recently developed and delivered a workshop that aims to provide the youth sector with a better understanding of the needs and current outcomes for gender diverse young people, with the goal of facilitating better services for our vulnerable young people.
In my spare time, I’m the loving owner of two gorgeous guinea pigs and the curator of their Instagram account. I also love to play music: playing, arranging, and writing songs for piano is a huge part of my downtime. Despite being perpetually uncool as a result, I have a massive love for folk music – in particular a band called The Milk Carton Kids. I love to ride my bike around my suburb, and over the last year I’ve developed a keen interest in indoor volleyball. I’m not great at it, but I’m definitely interested.
I’m looking forward to being a part of the YEP crew, as I strongly believe in the power of education and in empowering our young people to make their own safe, healthy and informed decisions.
