R U Legal? – Free legal education sessions to schools: Legal Aid WA

Legal Aid WA are currently taking bookings for the 2018 school year for our free legal education sessions.

Presentations are run by practising criminal lawyers who share real stories to help young people learn about consequential thinking.  Topics addressed in our presentations include cyber safety, the age of criminal responsibility, sexting, the age of sexual consent, and leavers.  Each presentation is tailored to your school and content will depend on the student year level, to ensure the most relevant information is being given at the time.

We can present to whole year groups in one session or to smaller class size groups.

If you would like more information on Legal Aid’s free information sessions, or if you would like to make a booking for us to attend your school, please email rulegal@legalaid.wa.gov.au or telephone 9262 6317.

Meet the team

Vanessa Vlajkovic

Hi! My name is Nessa and I’m 20 years old. I’m studying Journalism at Edith Cowan University, with a Public Relations minor. I am an avid reader, writer, traveller and cheerleader. I’m also a passionate advocate for the deafblind community, and for other types of disability. I’ve been on the committee of the Youth Disability Advocacy Network (YDAN) at YACWA for a few months, and through them have developed a desire to become a YEP volunteer, as I want to expand my horizons.
