For our first forum of the year, we are really excited to partner with the Health Consumers Council and bring a focus to the important issue of the use of interpreters and its impact on young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. The specific focus of the session will on the use of interpreters in medical settings.
The aim of the session is to bring, health service providers, practitioners, youth and settlement sector workers and young people together to build knowledge and awareness and to develop strategies and recommendations on this topic.
The first half of the forum will include a panel of professionals that work in the area and young people who will share their knowledge and experiences on this topic. Panelists will be announced closer to the date.
After a networking morning tea, you will have an opportunity to unpack points raised in the panel discussion and develop recommendations which will be disemminated through the health, youth and community sectors.
