Breaking Down the Alphabet: a Closer Look at GBM (Gay & Bisexual Men) provides current sexual health information from a WA context regarding young gay and bisexual men’s (GBM) sexual health. This FREE unique training opportunity will encompass two workshop presentations from the WA AIDS Council (WAAC) and M Clinic.
WAAC will provide an overview of the current space of GBM’s sexual health, in particular, the current social issues, sexual behaviours & harm minimization techniques occurring within the community.
M Clinic will provide information on their suite of services, including:
- best practice approaches for working with gay men regarding their sexual health
- current WA statistics of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV
- current sexual health trends for clients accessing their service
- an overview and update of HIV prevention methods, including Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and Undetectable viral load (U=U).
Following the workshop, the newly launched Youth Pride Network (YPN) will be hosting an informal networking event to promote the group, and provides an opportunity for its young members to interact with the youth sexual health sector.
