BRING YOUR VOICE, to shape the way we help young people at-risk of suicide.
Are you a young person aged 12-25 with a passion for mental health?
YACWA, in partnership with MercyCare and Youth Mental Health, North Metropolitan Health Service of WA, will host a half-day forum open to young people, youth workers, school staff, social service providers, government and non-government health service providers and all those interested in supporting young people.
Two sessions are available:
Morning Presentation – Open to all ages
Youth workers and young people alike are invited to attend a morning presentation by the Western Massachusetts Learning Recovery Centre (USA) about their unique peer-based ‘Alternatives to Suicide’ Program.
Afternoon Workshop – Just for youth
This will be a safe space to talk about suicide and what we can do to help young people struggling with suicidal thoughts. You are encouraged to share your own thoughts and experiences.
The forum is being held at a wheelchair accessible venue. Interpreters are available on request. Gender neutral bathrooms on premises.
This event is LGBTQIA+ inclusive.
Lifeline is available on 13 11 14, as well as online at www.lifeline.org.au.
